TEDx Talks invited me to speak and to share one idea worth spreading to the world.
Besides the difficulty of trying to narrow down the multiple ideas always simultaneously swimming around my brain into ONE singular thought, this talk was both invigorating and intimidating for me at the same time.
Because even though I was honored and excited to share on TEDx Wilmington Delaware’s prestigious platform, as a speaker, believe it or not, I still get nervous before I speak.
Even though I’ve spoken to millions of people thru the years…
The walk to a stage can sometimes be scary.
Your mind races and hypothesizes every possible scenario because you never know how an audience is going to receive what you have to share.
- Will they understand your message?
- Laugh at your jokes, cry, truly have breakthroughs and transformations?
- — or possibly boo you off the stage? (YES… It’s happened to me before!)
As I walked onto the stage to share my TEDx Talk, I remembered my mantra and biggest secret that’s gotten me through every speaking engagement I’ve ever done, “I’m here speaking because at least ONE person in this audience needs to hear what I know for their life to change.” Fear, judgment, rejection, embarrassment, doubt, lack of confidence, worry and nervousness… All go away with one simple thought.
If I can just speak life to that ONE person, I’ve done my job…
I’ve helped 1000’s of people Breakthrough to finding love, clarity, purpose, confidence or even tell their personal story… Thank God for the Gift and the GUTS to face my fears, swallow my pride and do my BEST to reach that ONE person in every audience!
If I can do it… So can you!
I’d be honored if you watch my TEDx Talk “The Power of Your Love Story” and let me know how I did…
